Well today has been a fun day ! Rick and I went to Valley View and Watsons to see what after Christmas bargains were left and I got a TON of stuff ! All the Irish Setter ornaments were still there (5 of them) and I got Cherilyn two more of the sassy sack purses (a bird and a chihuahua) and I found myself a snowman scarf (it's supposed to be for a child but I plan to refab it to work for me !) And I found some vintage 50's looking wreath ornaments at Watsons for my windows ! Then we stopped at Lowe's to get a screwdriver set to replace my watch battery and we ended up finding snowman scissors for $1.25 a pair and I bought all they had ! Getting ready now to take Hugh to the mall to get his new pair of Vans and a belt ! Might hit Bed Bath and Beyond to see if there are anymore of those cute snowman rugs ! What a fun day of bargain shopping !!! Tomorrow will be a day of laundry, cleaning and crocheting at home :)

When Rick got home tonight we ran out to try and find watch batteries and ended up having a fun night of unexpected errands. I decided to stop at Fashion Bug since they are going out of business and they were just closing up so I went in KMart to see if they had anything left and they had a TON ! I got a 6 foot Christmas tree for $14.99, a bunch of fabric bows, a stuffed snowman, 4 boxes of Jaclyn smith glittered balls and a box of blue birds, two tree skirts, 6 rolls of wrapping paper and two bags of bows, some Hello Kitty ornaments and a fairy/ballerina snowglobe for Cherilyn and two angry bird stuffed guys for Hugh. Then we stopped at Home Depot and I got two glade cinnamon candles for $1.50 each and a huge container of 100 unbreakable ornaments (to use outside on the bushes next year) for $6.99 ! Only found one out of the three watch batteries we needed- but we had a fun night !  

Today was a much better day for school accomplishments ! Hugh's test FINALLY made it into the mail and Cherilyn's is almost ready (most likely Monday or Tuesday it will be a go !) Worked on a new pattern for a colorful crocheted pillow (found the pattern in my new issue of Crochet World which arrived in the mail today !) and caught up on laundry. All in all a pretty productive day ! Off to make dinner now and turn on the Christmas lights (it gets too dark, too early for me :()

Hoping to hit a few stores this weekend to find some after Christmas deals (I'm always up for some shopping -especially when it involves 50-75% off !)  

Day two of my blog. Took all the Santas and reindeer down and packed them away until next year and changed all the outdoor flags to snowmen. Packed up the Snoopy blowup and outdoor reindeer, rocking horse and Santa till next year. (hate this time of year- fun putting it up- sad taking it down !) I will keep our tree up until next weekend and my snowmen stay out until March *usually*.

Trying to get the kids back into the swing of school (not working so well !) and trying to do some much needed organizing since the kids got yet another entire toy store for Christmas ! Parting with "old" things is not something my children do well (they got that from me unfortunately) so trying to jam 25 pounds of stuff into a 5 pound space is generally what I do !

Well hopefully I can get the space under the tree cleaned out and the boxes put in the attic so I can give my rug a much needed vacuuming this afternoon and then off to have some much needed relaxing crochet time :)

Hopefully tomorrow will be a more productive school day !  

My new blog for 2013 !

I have never done a blog before so I don't know how this will work for me but I decided for the New Year I would try it. I love reading other people's blogs- so I decided I would write my thoughts and my family's milestones down and share my crochet projects and recipes with others :) Here it goes !
